Why Direct

The middlemen have been collecting before the lapidary ever sees the rough.

A typical aquamarine passes through four to six intermediaries between the mine face and your bench — each one adding margin, sometimes recutting, almost never certifying. By the time a stone reaches a wholesale broker in New York or Bangkok, its provenance has been smoothed into a generic lot line and its price inflated accordingly.

Aquamarine Nepal is vertically integrated under a single roof in Patan: we purchase rough directly from Nepalese and Pakistani miners, our three GIA Graduate Gemologists cut, grade, and certify in-house, and we ship the finished stone to your bench. The supply chain shrinks from six pairs of hands to one. That is why our trade members pay, on average, 58% less than comparable calibrated aquamarine at US retail — and why every stone still arrives with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and a provenance map naming the originating region.

GIA Graduate Gemologists on staff — the only such team in Nepal

Member of the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) since 2003. Featured in Jewelers' Circular Keystone's 2022 "Rising Houses" list. Named "Best Online Gemstone Retailer — Asia" by the Asian Jewellery Excellence Awards, 2023.

We used to buy calibrated aquamarine through a New York broker who had a broker, who had a broker. Switching to Aquamarine Nepal cut our per-carat cost by roughly half and gave us a piece of paper we could actually show clients — a real provenance map, signed by a GIA gemologist, naming the region. The paperwork alone changed how our showroom talks about the stones.
